Congrats to our Transformation Tuesday star, Mary!
How long have you been coming to Nutrish Mish? What made you start?
I was desperate and I knew I had to commit myself to several sessions. I hated to look at pictures of myself and I dreaded trying on new clothes in stores with mirrors all around. I couldn't believe I had let myself go to the point I had. I began in September of 2017. Deep down I really didn't want to change my chaotic eating habits but I knew I had to if I wanted to lose weight.
What has been the biggest transformation you have seen in yourself (mindset wise, habit wise, etc)?
I see my food as fuel now, not just something I haphazardly stuff into my mouth whenever I feel like it. I have taken control of what I eat , my food no longer controls me. I plan now and eat healthier meals and I still eat most of my favorite treats now and again. I do not crave the junk food anymore. If I choose to have an indulgence from time to time, the choice doesn't wreck my day. I just plan for it and adjust my eating accordingly. I don't put myself down or go on a guilt trip. I've been there and done that before and it is just disastrous. An added plus is that I enjoy cooking more and have been more adventurous when it come to trying new things. I have also become a better shopper.
What made this time different then other times you have tried to get healthier or lose weight?
With Nurtrish Mish there was more personal attention. My nutritionista, Kim, is an invaluable resource and coach. She anticipates my needs and gently guided me. I really feel that she cares for me as a person. She was patient and persistent (in a good way) and extremely knowledgeable. She meets you where you are at and brings you to the finish line. In addition there are no long meetings to attend, there are wonderful recipies, a blog and inspirational assistance every step of the way. I just can't say enough about this wonderful program. Nutrish Mish gives sound nutritional advice.
What advice would you have for someone just starting with Nutrish Mish?
The advice I would give to someone starting would be to know that changing habits that have been with you for a long time take time to change. Instead of only looking at weight loss it is important to broaden that picture. It is so important to have healthy eating habits. I have found that "Slow and Steady Wins the Race." You want to have a program that works for the long run, not just the initial weight reduction.
Favorite NM Product/Recipe?
Okay, so this question shows who I really am! Although I enjoy all of the recipes, I am a chocoholic and Scott's Protein Balls, made with Nutrish Mish Chocolate Protein Powder, get me through the difficult days. If I am on the run I can take one with me to snack on or take two to substitute for a meal on a busy day.
Anything else you would like to add:
I am so glad to have stumbled on to Nutrish Mish. It has made a profound difference in my life and in my health. Thanks to all the nutritionistas for the support they offer, but most especially to Kim. She has been incredible! I am so glad she has been able to join me on my journey to a healthier me.
