Congrats to our Transformation Tuesday star, Lynn!
How long have you been coming to Nutrish Mish? What made you start?
I started Nutrish Mish on July 15, 2020. I wanted to drop 15 lbs and wanted to learn how to eat properly. A year before that I had done the Nutri System diet and lost the weight and then when I had stopped, I put it back on when I was eating normal food. My whole office practically started Nutrish Mish and lost the weight and kept it off. That's what made me give it a shot and I love it.
What has been the biggest transformation you have seen in yourself (mindset wise, habit wise, etc)?
Losing the weight and reaching my goal weight. I feel so much better and look healthier. I used to snack at night while watching tv and do not do that any longer. Don't feel hungry and just don't have the desire or need to snack anymore.
What was a misconception you had before starting Nutrish Mish? In what way has your mindset on food/nutrition/health changed?
I thought that I wouldn't be able to still have alcohol beverages and still be able to keep the weight off. I'm not into eating sweets kind of person, but do enjoy wine on weekends and sometimes with a meal. Now that I use this as indulgences, I can still maintain my weight and enjoy my wine.
What made this time different then other times you have tried to get healthier or lose weight?
Once you get past the learning curve of tracking it, measuring it and understanding the concept, it is a breeze. And what's nice about it is it's real food, not processed meals. I have been on maintenance now for 3 months and have been keeping the weight off. I went from 149 to 135 in 5 months and my goal weight was to remain in the 135 to 140 range. I am 55 years old and am 5'7" and cannot go any lower than 135 without looking healthy. I am now toning and exercising as well to build muscle.
What advice would you have for someone just starting with Nutrish Mish?
That it definitely works. Stick with it and once you get past the learning curve it really does work. You don't feel like you are missing out on anything. It's important to exercise regularly while losing weight. You will begin to see results, which then makes you want to keep going. Don't get frustrated when you are only losing a pound a week. All of a sudden your body kicks in and the weight starts shredding away. I'm a believer!!!
Favorite Recipe/ NM Product?:
I have few favorite recipes, Peach and BBQ Chicken Quesadilla is amazing. My morning breakfast is 1/2 cup oatmeal with 2 tbsp of peanut butter or the Yogurt Parfait is fantastic.
